Die halbhohen Schnürboots von Dr. Martens, meist einfach „Docs“ genannt, sind seit Jahrzehnten fester Bestandteil der Jugendmode und wurden von unterschiedlichsten Subkulturen umarmt. Dr. Martens – eine britische Erfolgsgeschichte mit deutschen Wurzeln
Doc-Martens-Stiefel wurden einst durch britische Trendsetter weltweit bekannt. Doch wer weiß heute noch, dass hinter dem namensgebenden Dr. Martens ein Deutscher steckte? Es war der deutsche Arzt Klaus Märtens, der sich 1945 beim Skifahren am Knöchel verletzte und nach einer weicheren Alternative für seine harten Armeestiefel suchte. Aus weichem Leder und luftgepolsterten Sohlen aus Reifen entwickelte er einen Prototypen, der zunächst bei bayerischen Hausfrauen Anklang fand. Erst 1959 kaufte der britische Schuhhersteller R. Griggs Group Ltd. das Patent für die Dr. Martens-Stiefel und der weltweite Siegeszug begann.
Doc Martens – Stiefel für unangepasste Rebellen
Die „Docs“ genannten Schnürstiefel, die nun im englischen Northampton produziert wurden, fanden in den 70er-Jahren Verbreitung in jugendlichen Subkulturen wie Punks, Skinheads und New-Wave-Anhängern. Dieses rebellische Image haben die Stiefel von Dr. Martens seither nie wieder abgelegt. Zu den Bestsellern gehören bis heute die klassischen Modellen in Schwarz und Kirschrot, doch mittlerweile sind Doc-Martens-Stiefel in unzähligen weiteren Farben und bunten Designs erhältlich.
Neben den halbhohen Schnürboots findest du auch hohe Stiefel, Halbschuhe und sogar Sandalen.
